The rules of athletics do not change based upon your age. TIGER ATHLETICS uses the Long-Term Athletic Development Model (LTAD), providing countless ways for athletes to grow, from discovery and introducing the basic F-U-N-damentals to mastering the game we call Athletics. We believe in providing the tools for athletes to DISCOVER, STRIVE, DEVELOP and MASTER athleticism for LIFE.
ATHLETICISM is the ability to perform athletic movements (run, jump & throw) at optimum speed, with precision, style and grace within the context of the sports or fitness activities that you do.
DISCOVER Ages 3-6: Our starter training program focuses on introducing the basics of athleticism and developing skills while continuing to refine children’s agility, balance and coordination. No prior experience necessary.
F-U-N-DAMENTALS Ages 6-9: Athletic skills are taught through drills, skill-building exercises & fun games. Coaches focus on fundamental athletic skill sets needed to succeed and grow in whichever sport the young athletes chooses.
STRIVE Ages 9-12: This is a critical phase in youth physical and mental development. During this important time in a child’s life, youth athletes are in their “skill-hungry” years. The body is primed for new information and ready to ingrain new movement patterns. We continue to build on the F-U-N-DAMENTALS foundation while introducing how to Train to Play, where we simulate what will actually happen while the athlete is playing.
DEVELOP Ages 12 -16: We focus on coordination elements along with mobility, stamina, and speed development. We continue to build on the Train to Play concept and introduce Train to Compete, giving young athletes the need to have a strong foundation of athletic skills and conditioning that prepares them for more sport-specific training at a larger stage.
MASTER: This is the fourth stage of our Long Term Athletic Development Model, building on the concept of Train to Compete while introducing introducing how to Train to Win. This program is for athletes who are serious about their sport, from high school to college to pro. These athletes want to be starters in their position, and team leaders in their division. At this level the athlete’s have some training background, more advanced athletic motor skills, and can tolerate more intense training sessions. Athlete’s master athletic skills through fastpaced drills, skill-building exercises, and game-speed scrimmages. Our multi-sport training program is designed to supplement the sport-specific coaching that athletes receive at practice. We focus on improving the overall athlete. Mastery of skills equals excellence. This program is guaranteed to improve speed, strength, and agility while emphasizing advanced power development, decreasing risk of injury, and enhancing the athlete’s self-confidence.
LIVE: Be active for life, start at any age. There is an athlete in everyone. We find it, no matter what age you are. Have you ever wondered what you were supposed to do with all these great athletic skills and desire to compete and have FUN? All of a sudden we think that is supposed to end after high-school, college or retiring a professional sport and to join a fitness club and do a thing they call a workout where who knows what you’re going to get?
